Tri Valley Conference Championship
Freeland Middle school wrestlers competed in the Tri Valley Conference Championships. The Falcons had an outstanding tournament and performed very well. The tournament boasted over 240 competitors and consisted of 15 teams. Out of the 19 weight classes Freeland placed 15 wrestlers in the top 4 and had ten wrestlers in the finals battling for 1st and 2nd place. Freeland had the most place winners and the most wrestlers in the finals. They also tied for most champions. The gym was filled with shouts and cheers as the Falcons fought their way through each round. In the end the Falcons ended up crowning six champions, four 2nd place winners, three 3rd place winners and two 4th place winners. Our champions include: Colin Earls, Samuel Klopf, Jayce Ayers, Wyatt Brewer, Nolan Cunningham and BIG Garrett Kain. Earning a hard fought 2nd place include: Kael Foulds, Maddox Wilson, Michael Wilson and Leo Ott (not Otto). 3rd place winners include: Evan Lynch, Colton Winchell and Carter Cunningham. 4th place winners include: Nathan Aulds and Kayden Smith. Great job boys! The wrestlers of the night include the entire team. The team showed heart and dedication and a willingness to work hard for their goals. Great job team! The quickest pin for the night goes to Garret Kain who only needed 8 seconds to pin his opponent. Garrett finished his first year of wrestling undefeated. He pinned all of his opponents this year. He pinned everyone of them in less than a minute. Way to go Garrett. We are looking forward to Garrett becoming a pillar on the high school wrestling team.
