Comer and Wheatley named Finalist for Harry Hawkins Award

The seventh annual Harry Hawkins Award presentation will be held Thursday, December 4th,2025, at the Saginaw Club.The Heisman Trophy-like award, which debuted in 2019, recognizes the top senior footballplayer in Saginaw County. The Saginaw Club is the presenting sponsor of the award inconjunction with the MLive Media Group.Finalists include John Carlson, Nouvel Catholic Centra High School; Tristan Comer, FreelandHigh School; and Zander Wheatley, Freeland High School.The Hawkins award is named in honor of former Arthur Hill High School and University ofMichigan gridiron standout Harry Hawkins, the first All-America football player from SaginawCounty. Hawkins was also a track standout at Michigan where he captured both the Big Ten andNational Championships in the hammer throw. Hawkins, an engineer and executive in theautomotive industry, was a former Saginaw Club member.The ceremony will be held at the historic Saginaw Club, 219 N. Washington Ave. in downtownSaginaw.

2025-26 ATHLETIC REGISTRATION If you have an athlete that is planning on playing a fall sport this school year, you MUST have them registered on planeths.com. *PLEASE USE THE PASSWORDS THAT YOU USED LAST YEAR FOR YOUR RENEWAL ACCOUNTS. Registration should be completed by the first day of practice. All registration must include a physical dated after April 15, 2025. For returning athletes, they must complete the renewal at planeths.com For new athletes the registration process includes creating an account for both the athlete and the parent(s) at planeths.com . These two accounts will then be linked. The student will use their school email, and the password, bigteams. Parents will need to create a new parent account.
