Freshmen Falcons Fly High in Chesaning

The Freshmen Falcons traveled to Chesaning High School on Thursday October 24 th to take on
the JV Indians and bring home the victory 35-6.
The Falcons played great defense for the entire game as the would force the Indians to punt on
the opening drive. The Falcon offense would not be denied as they would put together a 12-play
drive covering 75 yards and eating up almost 7:00 minutes of the clock. Brock Geth would
punch it in from 3 yards to give the Falcons a 6-0 lead, the try for 2 was no good. The defense
would continue to be stout not allowing Chesaning any momentum and would force another
punt, but this time a errant snap would give the Falcons the ball on the Chesaning 2 yard line and
the Falcons would have Geth punch it in from there on the next play. The try for 2 would be
good by Grant Goodenough and the Falcons led 14-0 nearing the end of the first quarter. The
Falcon defense again stood tall on the next Chesaning possession and the Indians turn it over on
downs. The Falcons would take over on their own 40-yard line and would put together a 7-play
drive which ended with Evan Lynch finding the endzone on a 6-yard run. The try for 2 was no
good and the Falcons lead was 20-0.
In the 2 nd half the Falcons would exchange possessions with the Indians, the Falcons would come
up short on their 2 nd drive turning the ball over on downs to the Indians at their own 2-yard line.
The Falcon Defense would cause a fumble on the next play and Jonah Monroe would recover it
in the endzone for a Touchdown. Trevor Steep would barrel in for the 2-point conversion and
the Falcons led 28-0. On the ensuing kickoff the Falcons Adien Waldie would use his speed to
get down the field and recover the kick, giving the Falcons the ball back on the Chesaning 35-
yard line. The Falcons after losing yards on the next 3 plays would go to the air and quarterback
Chayce Coffey would find a wide-open Rowan Brock for a 46-yard touchdown pass completion.
Aiden Waldie would add the extra point, and the Falcons led 35-0 with 8:59 to go in the game.
The Indians would find the endzone on a 30-yard pass play and their try for 2 was no good. The
game would end with the Falcons lining up in victory formation and taking a knee.
The Falcon Offense would be led by Brock Geth who had 15 carries for 98 yards. Evan Lynch
would carry the ball 10 times for 38 yards. Chayce Coffey would go 4 of 5 passing for 80 yards.
Rowan Brock had 2 catches for 50 yards. Cameron Keefer would have 1 catch for 19 yards.
The Falcon Defense would be led by Lawson Jurik who had 9 tackles, 2 for loss and one sack,
Evan Lynch had 8 tackles, Mason Monroe would have 7 tackles 2 for loss and a sack. Jonah
Monroe would recover a fumble for a touchdown.
The Freshmen Falcons conclude their season with a 4-5 record, having played 4 JV teams this
year. It was a Great Season for the Freshmen Falcons.

Freshman come up Short

The Freshmen Falcons traveled to Frankenmuth on Thursday October 17 th and fell to the Eagles
28-0.
The Falcons fell behind 14-0 in the 1 st quarter and could not recover. The Eagles proved to be to
much for the Falcons as they would score 2 more times in the 2 nd quarter to make it 28-0 at the
Half. The Falcons played well in the 2 nd half and did not allow another score but the offense
struggled to get on track and the Falcons failed to reach the endzone.
The Falcon defense was led by Evan Lynch with 9 tackles, Brock Geth would add 7 tackles and
Harrison Kenney would chip in 5 tackles and a fumble recovery.
The Falcon Offense was led by Geth who had 11 carries with 47 yards, Aiden Waldie had 6
carries for 39 yards, and Lynch had 7 carries 31 yards.
The Freshmen Falcons will conclude their season next Thursday October 24 th when they travel to
Chesaning to take on the JV Indians, kickoff is set for 6:00pm.

Freeland Earns Win over Bobcats

The Freshmen Falcons hosted the Bangor John Glenn Bobcats on Thursday October 10 th in a Tri
Valley Conference showdown. The Falcons played great defense and were victorious 22-6.
The Bobcats received the opening kickoff and would strike first putting together a 60-yard drive
that was aided by a 15-yard penalty to score the game’s first touchdown. The try for 2 was no
good and the Bobcats led the Falcons 6-0. The Falcons would dominate after that though only
allowing the Bobcat offense 8 yards the rest of the game. The Falcon offense got on track and
put together a drive of their own that saw Jaxon Sauer finding the endzone on a 7-yard
touchdown run. The try for 2 was successful on a pass from Evan Lynch to Grant Goodenough
and the Falcons led 8-6. It would remain 8-6 at half-time. The Falcons would get the ball to
start the 2 nd half and would be forced to punt but a Bobcat pass attempt was Intercepted by Jesse
Alvarado, and it would set the Falcon Offense up nicely in John Glenn 30-yard line. The Falcon
drive would culminate with a 3-yard Evan Lynch touchdown run. Braylon Prescott would add
the 2-point conversion, and the Falcons lead was 16-6. The Falcons Defense would get another
turnover when Grant Goodenough would intercept a Bobcat pass early in the 4 th quarter. The
Falcon offense had some beautifully timed passes that allowed drive to continue and would have
one on this drive when Chayce Coffey would complete a pass to Evan Lynch for a 7-yard
touchdown. The try for 2 was no good. The Falcon’s lead was 22-6 and that would be the final
score.
The Falcon Defense shined bright again this week, only allowing 53 yards total for the game.
Evan Lynch and Harrison Kenney would lead the defense with 4 tackles each. Kenney also had a
huge 3 rd down sack of the quarterback in the 1 st quarter. Jesse Alvarado and Grant Goodenough
each had an interception.
The Falcon Offense would finish with 165 yards rushing and 117 yards passing in a great
balanced attack. Brock Geth led all ball carriers with 79 yards on 12 carries. Lynch finished the
game with 64 yards on 16 carries and had a 7-yard touchdown reception. Chayce Coffey would
go 4 of 7 throwing the ball for 117 yards. Cameron Keefer had 2 catches for 87 yards and
Rowan Brock had a reception for 23 yards.
It was a true TEAM effort by the Freshmen Falcons and now have their sights set on the
Frakenmuth Eagles in which they will travel to Frankenmuth on Thursday October 17 th with
kickoff set for 4:30pm

Freeland travels to Fowler

The Freshmen Falcons traveled an hour and half to Fowler High School to take on the JV Eagles.
The Falcons played well but Fowler wore down the undersized Falcons, final score 48-6.
Fowler would score first on the Falcons at the 6:53 mark of the first quarter, the extra point was
good, and the score was 7-0. The Falcons would strike back with a scoring drive that would only
take 2 minutes and 30 seconds when Evan Lynch would cross the goal line from 6 yards out, the
try for 2 was no good and the score was 7-6. Fowler would go on to wear out the Falcons
scoring 3 more times before the half. The half-time score was Fowler 28 and Freeland 6. The
second half was much of the same as the Falcons were overmatched by the bigger Fowler JV
team, the Final score would be 48-6.
The Offense shined throwing the ball Chayce Coffey would go 6 of 12 for 104 yards. Rowan
Brock and Cameron Keefer were the leading receivers. Evan Lynch would pace the rushing
attack carrying the ball 13 times for 45 yards.
Lynch would also lead the Defense with 5 tackles, Cam Keefer would add 4 and Jaxon Sour had
an interception.
The Freshmen Falcons will travel to Saginaw Heritage on Thursday October 3 rd with a 4:30pm
kickoff.

9th Grade Travels to Alma

The Freshmen Falcons traveled to Alma High School to take on the JV Panthers. The game was
a last second decision as the Falcons were to take on Laingsburg JV which cancelled on Monday,
the Freshmen Falcons picked up Alma’s JV at 8:30am on Thursday morning. So, with no
preparation to play Alma the Falcons had a good showing but came up short 27-20.

Alma would open the game with a kickoff return for a touchdown and the Falcons fell behind
early, the extra point would be good making the score 7-0. The Falcons would respond with a
four and half minute drive that saw Brock Geth break away for 23-yard touchdown run, the try
for 2 was no good making it 7-6 in favor of Alma to end the 1 st quarter. Alma would open the
scoring in the 2 nd quarter at the 5:11 mark with a touchdown pass and the extra point was no
good. The Falcons would answer quickly on a 49-yard run by Brock Geth and the 2-point try
was no good. The halftime score would be 13-12. The Falcons received the ball to start the 2 nd
half and would put together a drive that would chew up almost 8 minutes of the clock, but it
stalled, and the Falcons turned the ball over on downs. Alma would score twice in the 4 th quarter
and extended their lead to 27-12. The Falcons did not give up though and put together a drive
that would have Geth finding the endzone with only :43 seconds to go in the game. The try for 2
was good making it 27-20. The Falcons attempted an onside kick to get the ball back, but it was
unsuccessful, and the game ended.
Brock Geth would lead the Falcon offense with 28 carries for 219 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Jaxon Sour would have 10 carries for 61 yards and Evan Lynch would have 10 carries for 27
yards. Chayce Coffey would complete one pass to Rowan Brock for 30 yards. The Falcon
offensive line played the best it has all year, and it showed with 305 yards rushing as a team.
The Falcon defense played well and was led by Jordan Lawrence, Cameron Keefer, and Braylon
Prescott who each had 4 tackles. Jaxon Sour had an interception.
The Freshmen Falcons will travel to Fowler to face their JV on Thursday September 26 th with a
6:30pm kickoff.

Freshman travel to Swan Valley

The Freshmen Falcons traveled to rival Swan Valley on Thursday September 12 th and let a game
slip away, losing 14-0. The Falcons would only have the ball for 10 offensive snaps in the 1 st
half as Swan Valley would keep possession for most of the half and build a 14-0 lead.
The Falcons fumbled on their first drive of the game, and threw an interception on the second
drive of the game and could not get any momentum going in the 2 nd half. The Falcon Defense would
have to play a ton and did a good job against the ground and pound attack of Swan Valley.
The Defense was led by Evan Lynch who had 8 tackles, Grant Goodenough would have 6
tackles, and Jaxon Sauer, Cameron Keefer, Rowan Brock, Harrison Kenney would all have 5
tackles on the afternoon. The Offense of the Falcons sputter and was led by Brock Geth who had
13 carries for 58 yards, and Evan Lynch finished with 8 carries for 27 yards.
The Falcons fall to 1-2 on the season and will look to right the ship on Thursday September 19 th
when they host Laingsburg’s JV team, kickoff is set for 4:30pm.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary JV Trips up the Freshmen Falcons.

The Freshmen Falcons played host to Michigan Lutheran Seminary’s JV Team last Thursday.  The Cardinals got out to a quick start on the Falcons and won 28-14. 

 

The Falcons would have a big defensive play to start the game when Harrison Kenney would force an errant pitch by the Seminary Quarterback and led to a Chaye Coffey fumble recovery.  The Falcon offense would stall out and be forced to punt the ball away. Michigan Lutheran Seminary would then score 3 times and take a 20-0 lead into half-time.

 

The Falcons would only yield one score in the second half-time and would find the endzone twice themselves.  The Falcons would get their first Touchdown on a Brody Geth 14-yard run, Braylon Prescott would add the 2pt conversion and the Falcons trailed 28-8. Evan Lynch would find the endzone with 1:56 to go in the game on a 39-yard run, the try for 2 was no good and that would be the final score 28-14.

 

Offensively the Falcons would be led by Brody Geth who carried the ball 23 times for 130 yards, Ayden Waldie would have 15 carries for 81 yards and Evan Lynch would add 4 carries 53 yards.  The Falcon defense was led by Lynch who would register 7 tackles 1 for loss, Chayce Coffey would add 4 and have a fumble recovery.  Mason Monroe would have 2 tackles for loss and finish the game with 4 tackles.

 

The Freshmen Falcons stand at 1-1 and will be on the road Thursday September 12th at Swan Valley kickoff is at 4:30pm. 

9th Football Opens With a Win

The Freshmen Falcons traveled to Saginaw High School to face Saginaw United on Wednesday
August 28 th and came away with a shutout victory winning 28-0.
The Falcons defense shined in this one forcing United into a quick 3 and out on their first
possession. The Falcon offense would take of business grinding out 1 st down after 1 st down and
eventually leading to a Ayden Waldie Touchdown run from 3 yards out. The two-point
conversion was good when Braylon Prescott would take the direct snap and run it in, the Falcons
lead 8-0. The Falcon D would take the center stage on United’s next possession as Jordan
Lawrence stepped in front of pass and would return it for a pick six, and the Falcons were up 14-
0, the try for two would be stopped. The Falcons would maintain that 14-0 advantage through
half-time.
In the 2 nd half the Falcons received the opening kickoff of the half would march down the field
leading to another Waldie Touchdown, Prescott would add the two-point conversion, and the
Falcons lead 22-0. In the 4 th quarter the Falcon Offense would add one more touchdown by
Waldie for his 3 rd of the game, the try for two was no good and this would cap off the scoring
finishing the game with a 28-0 final.
The Falcon Defense was paced by Mason Monroe would record 6 tackles, Chayce Coffey,
Lawson Jurik, and Cameron Keefer would each add 3 tackles a piece. Jordan Lawrence had the
big interception returned for touchdown.
The Falcon Offense was led by Ayden Waldie’s 3 TD’s and would finish the game with 13
carries for 152 yards. Lawson Jurik would have 6 carries for 40 yards.
The Freshmen Falcons gave a Total Team effort on this day and were rewarded with the victory.
They will build off the 1 -0 start and play host to Michigan Lutheran Seminary’s JV on Thursday
September 5 th kickoff is at 4:30pm.
