Football Travels to Goodrich for District Championship Game

Updated on 11/18/2022

With the win over North Branch, our varsity football team now travels to Goodrich this Friday, November4, 2022 for the District Championship game, starting at 7:00 pm.  For tickets, please log onto GoFan.co and search Freeland or Goodrich to purchase tickets.

North Branch had a great team. We knew it was going to be a game of possessions.

We were down 27-24 at half, but got the ball first. Ty Fournier scored on the first play from scrimmage in the 2nd half to give us the lead.

We took the lead 40-35 to start the 4th quarter,  and they had an unfortunate fumble. That allowed us to score again and go you by 13 with 11:55 to go in the game.

NB score scored again to cut back to 7, but we went on a 4 minute drive and put it back to 13 with 5:42 to go.

NB had to go to the air and was having success,  but unfortunately threw an incompletion on 4th down.

Sam Talaga broke through the line with 1:43 to go for a 56yd td run to put the game away.

The boys played a great team game. They were down multiple times, but stopped believing.
