Falcons drop two on Saturday

The Freeland baseball team played well but dropped two games to Midland Dow Saturday losing both games 5-4.
Starting pitching all day was outstanding from Tucker Hileman and Robby Mularz.
In game one Kaden Gerzseny was 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI. Jake Metiva was 2-3 with a double and RBI.
In game two Connor Lasceski was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Jacob Clawson was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Freeland is 15-5 and heads to Frankenmuth Tuesday for a key TVC doubleheader.
Falcons Take Two from Sacred Heart

The Freeland Baseball team swept visiting Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart Wednesday night by scores of 4-0 and 5-1. Winning pitchers were Carter McLaren and Connor Lasceski.
McLaren threw 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 0 runs on 6 hits and struck out 3. Lasceski threw a complete game in game two allowing one run on 7 hits and also struck out 3.
Tucker Hileman led the offense with three hits on the day. Lasceski had two hits and two RBI. Kaden Gerzseny had a hit and RBI and Alex Schuette added a base hit.
Freeland is 15-3 and travels to Dow High for a doubleheader at 10am Saturday.
Freeland Sweeps John Glenn

The Freeland baseball team swept John Glenn Tuesday night winning both games by a score of 4-1.
In game one, Carter McLaren was the winning pitching throwing 6 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits and struck out 9. Tucker Hileman earned the save with a perfect 7th inning and 1 strikeout.
Liam Rump led the offense going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. Karson Worth was 2-for-4 with a double and stolen base and Kaden Gerzseny was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI.
In game two Connor Lasceski threw a complete game with 5 hits and 2 K's allowing just one run. Glenn's lone run in the 7th inning snapped a 15 inning scoreless streak on the mound for Lasceski who was also 1-for-3 with an RBI. Nic Hass had a double and RBI and Worth added another hit and two runs scored.
Freeland is 13-3 (3-2 TVC) and hosts Bridgeport Tuesday.
Falcons Split with the Dukes

The Freeland baseball team split a doubleheader at Garber dropping game one 5-4 in 8 innings before winning the nightcap 3-0 in five innings.
Kaden Gerzseny led the offense in game one with two hits and two RBI. Liam Rump added two hits.
Connor Lasceski got the win on the mound in game two with a complete game shut out. Lasceski threw 5 innings allowing just three hits and no walks striking out three. He also added a hit and RBI. Austin Hare had Freeland’s other base hit.
Freeland is 11-3 (1-2 in TVC) and travels to Glenn next Tuesday.
Falcons Travel to Beal City

The Freeland baseball team beat Beal City tonight on the road 8-5. In game two Freeland was ahead 11-0 after four innings when the game was called on darkness.
Tucker Hileman got the win in game one throwing 4 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out four. Sam Kaylor earned the save throwing the last three innings allowing two hits and striking out three.
Connor Lasceski was 2-for-2 with two walks. Hileman was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Karson Worth added two hits.
Connor Lasceski started game two on the mound and threw four shutout innings allowing just 3 hits and struck out eight Aggie hitters.
Jake Metiva was 3-for-4 with a 3-run homer. Jacob Clawson and Karson Worth were each 2-for-3 and Scott Reno added a double and 3 RBI.
Freeland is 8-2 and will host Elk Rapids Saturday at noon.
Falcons Win Two

The Freeland baseball team swept 18th Ranked Elk Rapids at home winning 13-4 and 7-3.
Sam Kaylor earned the win on the mound in game one throwing 4 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out six.
Karson Worth was 2-for-4 with a triple and 4 RBI, Alex Schuette was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Jake Metiva added a base hit and 2 RBI.
In game two Schuette earned the win throwing 5 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned and struck out three. Austin Hare earned the save throwing the last two innings allowing no earned runs on one hit.
Jacob Clawson had a hit and three RBI to lead the offense while Liam Rump and Kaden Gerzseny added a base hit and RBI. Jake Metiva also had a triple and run scored.
Freeland is 10-2 and travels to Essexville Gaber on Tuesday.
Falcons Travel to Meridian

Freeland baseball swept a pair of games at Meridian Saturday winning by scores of 14-0 in five innings and 19-2 in seven innings.
Dolan Wills was the winning pitcher in game one for the Falcons. The Freshman threw 4 innings allowing just one hit and struck out four Mustang batters.
Nic Haas led the offense going 3-4 with a home run and 5 RBI. Connor Lasceski was 2-2 with a double. Tucker Hileman had two hits and 3 RBI and Karson Worth had two hits with a double.
In game two, Carter McLaren, the first of four Falcon pitchers earned the win on the mound. Haas paced the offense again going 4-5 with a double and an RBI. Jacob Clawson was 3-3 with 4 RBI. Gibson Davis was 3-3 with a double and RBI while Liam Rump, Lasceski and Karson Worth each added two hits.
The Falcons are 7-1 and open up TVC play Tuesday at home against Swan Valley.
Freeland Wins at Dow Diamond

Freeland swept Bullock Creek last night at Dow Diamond in Midland winning 18-3 and 13-1.
Carter McLaren earned the win in game one throwing three innings and striking out five. Sam Kaylor threw a scoreless inning in relief with two strikeouts.
Jacob Clawson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and 3 runs scored, while Connor Lasceski had a hit and two walks with an RBI and scored twice, and Jake Metiva and Tucker Hileman both walked twice, had two RBIs, and scored twice.
Karson Worth walked three times, had an RBI, and scored twice, while Gibby Davis singled and walked, with an RBI and two runs scored, and Kaden Gerzseny walked three times and had an RBI.
In the nightcap, Robby Mularz got the win on the mound with 4 innings pitched allowing just one run on three hits adn struck out 5. Metiva went 2-for-3 with an inside-the-park homer, while Gerzseny went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs, and Hileman also went 2-for-3.
The Falcons are 4-0 and travel to Clare on Friday.
Freeland vs Alpena

The Freeland baseball team swept their season opening doubleheader at home against Alpena Friday night winning game one 7-1 and taking the nightcap 4-0 in a game called by darkness after five innings.
Tucker Hilman earned the win in game one throwing four innings allowing just one hit and striking out six. Carter McLaren started and went 3 innings allowing one run on two hits and also struck out six. Hileman also had two hits at the plate and scored three runs, while Connor Lasceski added two hits and an RBI. Karson Worth had an hit and two walks and Jacob Clawson was 1-2 with a walk and RBI.
In game two Robby Mularz was the winning pitcher throwing 4 innings of no hit ball with 9 strikeouts. Lasceski and Liam Rump each added a base hit and two RBI to lead the offense.
Freeland is 2-0 and will take on Bullock Creek next Wednesday at 4:30 at Dow Diamond in Midland.
