Varsity Volleyball Wins Home Quad

Freeland Home Quad 8/30/2022
Freeland Varsity went 3-0 last night during their first home quad of the season defeating Nouvel Catholic Central, Powers, and Beaverton. They moved to 5-1-1 on the season.

Evelynn Rybicki continued to be a dual threat player with 24 kills, 11 assists, and 16 digs in the evening. Elizabeth Shea set up the offense with 29 assists. Addie Seemann had 9 kills and 5 blocks. Lauryn Black led the defense with 25 digs in the evening.
Freeland Battles Birch Run

Freeland hosted their first home conference game this season with Birch Run.
Freeland started out the match going back and forth with Panthers, but saw success taking game 1: 25-23. The Panthers battled back the 2nd game winning 16-25 over the Falcons. Not giving up, the Falcons took the 3rd game on the evening 25-17. Panthers answered back in the 4th 18-25 to force a 5th game. Unfortunately the Falcons ran out of steam and fell 10-15.

Evelynn Rybicki: 10 kills, 15 assists, 13 digs
Alyssa Spegel: 9 kills, 24 digs
Alli Maize:5 kills, 25 digs

Volleyball Travels to Alma

Freeland lost in 5 to Alma 25-22, 15-25, 25-21, 21-25, 14-16.
- Elizabeth Shea had a great night setting up the offense with 20 assists, 5 kills, and 10 digs.
- Alli Maize had a great all around performance with career high 12 kills and 18 digs.
- Chloe Winchell had a career high 10 kills and 5 blocks.
Falcons are now 15-7 on the season, and are on the road this weekend at Northville.
Varsity Volleyball Travels to Owosso

Freeland Volleyball competed in Owosso this past weekend. During pool play they split with Heritage High School, lost to Livonia Stevenson, and beat Hazel Park. They were seeded 6th in Gold Bracket and played the 3rd seed Owosso in the first round and won. During the final match, they played St. Catherine of Siena and lost in 3 final score of 9-15.
Volleyball Travels to Bridgeport

Our high school volleyball program traveled to Bridgeport on Wednesday to take on the Bearcats. The varsity was led by Elizabeth Shea with 13 aces and 15 assists. Alivia Maly served 9 aces and Alli Maize led all hitters with 7 kills. The scores were 25-0, 25-7 and 25-3.
Both the JV and Freshman won in straight sets as well.
The next conference game is at home on Wednesday, September 21 against the state ranked Panthers of Birch Run. The Freshman start the action at 4:30.
Volleyball Travels to Beal City

Freeland JV and Varsity traveled to Beal City on Monday.
JV beat Beal City in two. Meanwhile Varsity took a 5 set thriller to beat Beal City. It was an amazing gym atmosphere on both sides in the stands.
The first game Freeland won 25-15, second won 25-23, and then dropped the last two sets 21-25, 27-29. The girls battled back in 3rd set after trailing 12-3 but the comeback was not enough. The fourth game, Freeland was leading 11-3 before Beal City started to make a comeback. During the final game it came down to who wanted to win more, Freeland won 15-13.
Varsity is now 13-3-3 on the season and plays Birch Run at home on Wednesday
High School Volleyball Set to Start on August 8th

Our high school volleyball program is set to start its 2022-23 season on Monday, August 8th at 6:00 pm. This will be for all 9-12th grade girls interested in trying out for a team this season. We will have all levels of competition for this upcoming season. After the first three days of practice, the teams will split up and practice on their own.
REMEMBER, All athletes must be registered on planeths.com. Returning athletes will use their user ID and password from last year to renew their registration. Parents will also be able to log in with last years credentials to complete their portion of the registration, and then the accounts will be linked. New athletes will have to create a student account using their school email, and the password bigteams. New parents will create their own separate account and then link both accounts together.

Volleyball Opens Season

All three teams traveled to Bay City Western for tournaments the past few days.
Varsity opened up season at BCW and made it to the Gold Bracket. They were 2-1-1 on the day.
JV won the Silver Bracket at the BCW tournament.
Freshman lost in Semifinals of the BCW tournament.
Highlights from the Varsity Tournament :
Evelynn Rybicki had 31 kills, 28 assists and 20 digs to lead the Falcons.
Elizabeth Shea set up the offense with a team high 44 assists and 15 digs to go along with it.
Eleni Morris had 33 digs in the back-row to lock down the defense
