The Freeland baseball team swept a doubleheader against Lake Fenton Friday at Northwood University winning game one 14-5 before taking the nightcap 8-3.
Connor Lasceski got the win in game one throwing 6 and 1/3 innings of relief allowing 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 5. Daniel Duley was 3-4 with a triple and 3 RBI. Kaden Gerzseny was 2-3 with two doubles and 3 RBI. Liam Rump had two hits and an RBI and Colin Dee was 1-1 with 2 RBI.
I’m game two Carter McLaren took a no-hitter into the 5th inning and earned his team leading 7th win of the season. McLaren threw 4 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and struck out 5. Colin Dee threw the last 2 and 1/3 allowing just one hit to get the save.
Dee was 3-3 with an RBI, Duley had two hits and an RBI while Karson Worth doubled and scored two runs.
Freeland is 25-8 and heads to the Reed City tournament where they will play Ludington tomorrow at noon
