The 4th ranked Freeland Baseball team split a home doubleheader with #2 in Division 4, Beal City Thursday night winning the first game 7-6 in dramatic fashion before dropping the nightcap 5-4 in a game shortened to five innings on darkness.
Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the 7th Freeland rallied back and Liam Rump drove home Connor Lasceski and Daniel Duley for a walk-off win. Tucker Hileman earned the win with 2 innings in relief allowing one run on 3 hits and struck out one. Colin Dee was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI while Hileman added two hits and an RBI.
In game two Brady Shavrnoch took a hard luck loss allowing 2 unearned runs on no hits in 2 innings of relief. Colin Dee added two more hits and Rump was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Freeland is 17-6 and travels to Cass City Monday.
