The Freeland Lady Soccer team hosted the Alma Panthers in their first home game of the season. The Falcons saw an early breakthrough at just 2 minutes and 40 seconds, courtesy of a goal by sophomore, Cessaly Fichtner. Freeland continued to assert their dominance, controlling possession and creating several scoring opportunities. Their persistence paid off once more at the 31-minute mark, as sophomore Reese Conlee found the net, extending Freeland's lead to 2-0 heading into halftime.
Despite Alma's efforts, Freeland's defense remained resolute, limiting their chances. With 20 minutes remaining, Alma found the back of the net off a free kick as they closed the gap to 2-1.
However, Freeland remained composed and focused on securing the win. With just six minutes left on the clock, midfielder Paige Kloha tapped the ball in after a scuffle in the box, securing the game to a 3-1 final.
JV was also on the pitch tonight against the Alma Panthers, winning their match 3-0. The Falcons are back on the pitch Tuesday at home against Valley Lutheran with JV at 5 and Varsity at 7 on the turf.
