The Freshmen Falcons hosted the rival Swan Valley Vikings on Wednesday August 30 th and shut
out the Vikings claiming their second win of the young season 16-0.
The Falcons would score first on a 2-yard run by Ryan Watkins, the 2-point conversion was also
good by Watkins giving the Falcons an 8-0 lead. The game would remain that way until 5:20 in
the fourth quarter when Nico Goodenough would run into the endzone from 5-yards out, and the
2-point conversion was again good by Watkins giving the Falcons a secure 16-0 lead late in the
game. Watkins and Goodenough would pace the Falcon offense having 13 carries for 58 yards
and 11 carries for 53 yards respectively.
The Falcon defense would hold the Vikings to -13 yards rushing and was led by Nolan
Cunningham’s 6 tackles, Carter Williamson would add 5 tackles. Evan Leahy and Braden Cook
would each have an interception to add to a stellar defensive performance.
The Freshmen Falcons play home again Thursday September 7 th against Midland High with a
4:30pm kickoff.
