Freshmen Falcons Defense Scores Big Over the Bobcats

The Freshmen Falcons hosted the John Glenn Bobcats on Thursday September 29 th and were
victorious 52-12. The Falcons defense would account for 18 points of the 52 scored and would
smother the Bobcats all afternoon. The Falcon offense would start the scoring on the first drive
of the game, needing only two plays to find the endzone. Quarterback Max Heyn would connect
with Tucker Hileman for a 29-yard touchdown. The try for 2 was good on a Karson Worth pass
to Nick Haas and the Falcons led 8-0. The Bobcats would score on their first play from
scrimmage to make the score 8-6. The Falcon offense would put together a nice drive on their
second possession which was capped off with a 3-yard run by Heyn, Kellen East would add the
2-pointconversion and the Falcons led 16-6. The Bobcats next possession is when the Falcon
defense rose to the challenge when Ross Farrell would intercept the pass and return it for a
touchdown. The 2-point conversion was good on a pass from Worth to center Bryson Lynch on
a well-executed trick play. The Falcons were in solid control of the game leading 24-6 at the end
of the 1 st quarter. The 2 nd quarter would be more Falcon defense when Austin Hare would get an
interception and return it for yet another defensive touchdown. The 2-point conversion would
fail, and the Falcons led 30-6. The score would remain the same until halftime. The Bobcats
received the ball to start the second half and the Falcon Defense would strike again when Ross
Farrell would strip the ball carrier and return the fumble for his 2 nd defensive touchdown of the
game. Jacob Clawson would add the PAT and the Falcons led 37-6. John Glenn would take
their next possession down the field and to add another touchdown to make the score 37-12. The
Falcons were not done yet though as they would add two more touchdowns, the first by Alex
Schuette and Austin Hare would add the 2-point conversion; then Kellen East would find the
endzone and Clawson added the PAT to cap off the scoring 52-12.
The Falcon defense was stellar in their performance and was led by Austin Hare who had 7
tackles. Keenan Cooper would have 5 tackles with 3 of them being for loss, Nick Haas would
chip in 4 tackles, 3 of them for loss, and Luke Szczepanik would have 4 tackles with 2 of them
for loss. The entire defense was smothering all afternoon, Ross Farrell had a fumble recovery
and an INT return for a touchdown, Austin Hare had an INT return for a touchdown. Coach Pete
Duley and Coach Drew Porter were extremely happy with the defensive performance.
The Falcon offense would see 11 different players carry the ball and they were led by East who
had 8 carries for 53 yards, Max Heyn would complete 3 of 4 passing for 77 yards.
The Falcons remain undefeated on the year pushing their record to 5-0-1 and will travel to Swan
Valley High School on October 6 th to take on the rival Vikings at 4:30pm.
