The Freshmen Falcons traveled to Frankenmuth High School on Thursday September 22 nd and
pulled out a last second victory over the Eagles 14-13. The game would be a defensive battle
most of the way until the Eagles completed a long pass to score the first points of the game, they
would kick the extra point and the Falcons were down 7-0. It would remain that way through
halftime. In the 3 rd quarter the Falcons put together a drive of their own capped off with a 22-
yard pass completion from Max Heyn to Jacob Clawson. Kellen East would add the 2-point
conversion and the Falcons led 8-7. Frankenmuth would score a touchdown toward the end of
the 3 rd quarter and the extra point was blocked by Nick Haas, making the score 13-8.
Frankenmuth would lead most of the 4 th quarter until with 19 seconds left in the game when
Heyn would connect with Tucker Hileman for a 16-yard touchdown pass competition, the try for
2 would fail and the Falcons led 14-13 with 19 seconds on the clock. The Eagles would fumble
on their first play after the kickoff and the Falcons were able to run out the rest of the clock to
pull out the 14-13 win.
The Falcon offensive was bottled up most of the night but did manage 219 yards total offense,
led by Max Heyn who was 5 of 11 passing for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns. Clawson has two
receptions and Hileman would have 3 receptions on the night. The ground game was led by
Nick Haas who had 9 carries for 53 yards and Kellen East who had 13 carries for 48 yards.
The Falcon defense played very well and was led by Keenan Cooper and Parker Lentner who
each had 7 tackles. Nick Haas, Liam Rump, and Zach Clark would have fumble recoveries for
the Falcons.
The Freshmen Falcons are now 4-0-1 and will play home on Thursday September 29 th against the
John Glenn Bobcats with kickoff at 4:30pm.
