The Freshmen Falcons traveled to Alma High School on Wednesday August 31st and earned a
solid victory 38-6 over the Panthers. The 2-0 Falcons would take the lead in the 1 st quarter at the
5:03 mark on a 13-yard pass from Max Heyn to Karson Worth, Kellen East would run in the 2-
point conversion and the Falcons led 8-0. The Falcons would strike again at the 9:50 mark of the
2nd quarter on a 38-yard run by Heyn and the 2-point conversion would be good on a pass from
Worth to Nick Haas. The Falcon’s lead was 16-0. The Panthers would score a touchdown at the
3:02 mark of the 2nd quarter to cut the Falcon lead to 10 making the score 16-6. In the 2nd half the
Falcons would flex their muscle by using the rushing attack and would score on their opening
drive on a 10-yard run by Karson Worth. The 2-point conversion would be good by Worth, and
the Falcons led 24-6 with 8:29 to go in the 3 rd quarter. Heyn would then score at the 2:52 mark
of the 3 rd quarter on a 18-yard run and the 2-point conversion was no good. The Falcons would
lead 30-6 until the 6:26 mark of the 4 th quarter when Keenan Cooper would cap off the scoring
on an 18-yard run, and Kellen East would add the 2-point conversion making it 38-6.
The Offense would finish by gaining 253 yards rushing and added 60 yards through the air.
Karson Worth led the rushing attack with 76 yards on 8 carries, Max Heyn would have 56 yards
on 2 carries. Heyn was 4 of 5 passing for 60 yards and a touchdown.
The Falcon Defense was on point led by Ross Farrell who had 5 tackles 2 for loss and 2
quarterback sacks. Alex Schuette would an interception and Jayel Garth would recover a
fumble. Austin Hare, and Schuette also had 5 tackles. Kellen East had 4 tackles on defense.
The Freshmen Flacons improve to 2-0 on the young season and will play at home on Thursday
September 8 th against Midland Dow at 4:30pm.
