Freeland Freshman basketball hosted the Eagles of Frankenmuth on Thursday, December 7th. It was a fast start for the Falcons, getting out to a 16-12 lead after the first. Frankenmuth fought back to get it to a one point game, but Freeland finished the half on a 9-0 run to take a 29-19 lead into the halftime break.
The second half was a defensive battle to start, as both teams struggled to score out of the gate. After four points by Muth to cut it to 29-23, Freeland went on a run fueled by transition and defense to roll into the fourth ahead 38-25.
The final stanza was more of the same, with the Falcons extending their lead and going onto win by a 47-30 score.
Kierce O'Neil and Ethan Sprague led the Falcons in scoring with 11 apiece, as nine Falcons got into the scorebook.
Freeland improves their record to 1-1 overall, and now 1-0 in the TVC. The next matchup is a home non-conference matchup against the Oilers of Mount Pleasant.
