Freeland hosted Alma on a blistering Tuesday evening.

Alma opened up the scoring in the 7th minute when they won a 50/50 ball in the box and found an open teammate for the 1-0 lead.  

Freeland began to settle in and connecting several passes in the middle of the field.  After a series of connections the Falcons earned a free kick from 25 yards out.  The shot by Junior Derik Prast was initially saved by the keeper, but fellow junior Josh Colpaert was there to finish it off and tie the game 1-1.

It appeared the tie would hold until halftime, but the Panthers earned a late corner kick that resulted in a goal with just 1 second left in the half.

The second half started with back and forth action until Alma  peppered a series of shots at Freeland keeper Devin Williamson.  Williamson practically stood on his head, turning away several attempts until Alma found a way to put one in the back of the net to take a 3-1 lead.

Freeland continued to work as a team and try to find a way to close the gap.  With 16 minutes to go they were the benefactors of an Alma error that ended in an Own Goal and a 3-2 score.

The remaining Falcon efforts were just off target, and a late added goal by Alma brought the game to a 4-2 finish.

Freeland looks to rebound when they host Birch Run on Wednesday at 7pm.
