Freeland opened league play as they welcomed the Garber Dukes to town. The Falcons came ready and did not take long to put one across the goal line. In the 3rd minute, Senior Ethan Gosen, finished a beautiful through ball from Owen Senkowski. Shortly thereafter Avery Thurston used his head to deflect the corner kick of Zane Stanuszek into the back of the net.
Stanuszek wasn't done helping out, in the 19th minute Zane unleashed a rocket that bounced off the crossbar where Luke Farminer was waiting to clean up the loose ball and put it past the Garber keeper. Within 2 minutes Derik Prast joined the action taking a ball from near midfield all the way past the defense to put the Falcons up 4-0 going into halftime.
The 2nd half saw much of the same with goals coming from Prast (52nd minute), Gosen (56th minute), Prast for his third (60th minute) and finally Gosen getting a hat trick of his own in the 76th minute.
The Falcons hit the road for a 4:30pm clash at Frankenmuth on 8/23/23.
