JV Falls to Frankenmuth

Freeland JV loses a tough one against Frankenmuth 38-24

 
Ryan Watkins led the offense with 28 carries for 138 yards. Nicho Goodenough added 49 yards on 12 carries.
 
Joey Langley led the defense with 4 tackles. Antonio Williams had an interception. Carter Williamson had a fumble recovery.
 
JV faces Cadillac at home Thursday for their last game of the season. 6pm kickoff 


 

JV Defeats Glenn

JV keeps the win streak alive with the air attack beating Glenn 42-8

 
Elijah Washabaugh was near perfect going 8/9 for 163 yards with 3 touchdown passes. His top target was Robbie Mularz again, Robbie caught 4 passes for 112 yards. Nicho Goodenough led the ground game with 8 carries for 65 yards and one score.
 
Carter Williamson had 7 tackles and one for a loss. Joey Langley had a solid game with 6 tackles and one for loss. Robbie Mularz had an interception for a pick six to seal the win.
 
JV travels to Frankenmuth Thursday for a 7-0 vs 7-0 match-up. 615pm kickoff

Freeland Travels to Garber

Freeland JV football wins 52-14 against rival Essexville Garber. 

 
The offense finally hit it's stride Thursday night gaining over 300 yards on the ground.  The Falcons were led by Nathan Aulds 12 for 93 yards. Antonio Williams keeps performing at a top level gaining 73 yards on 9 carries. Nicho Goodenough did it all with his hand, arm and feet.  Nicho tallied up 155 total yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns. Nicho also threw a pass on a trick play for 70 yards to Robbie Mularz.
 
This will not shock you, but the defense was led again Thursday night by Carter Williamson. Carter had 6 tackles, 2 for loss and a sack. Joey Langley had a solid game with 4 tackles. Spencer Pease also had a sack.
 
Freeland is home next week against John Glenn. Kickoff 6:15pm 

JV Travels to Alma

Freeland JV were road warriors again last night beating the Alma Panthers 28-0 and recording their 3rd shutout of the season.

 
The defense was lights out again last night holding Alma to 146 total yards of offense.  Defense was led once again by Carter Williamston, Carter had 6 tackles, 1 for loss and a sack. Antonio Williams was right behind him with 5 tackles, 1 for loss and a sack.  Nolan Cunningham had 2 sacks. Colton Cunningham blocked a punt. Evan Lehay had a big interception to seal the shut out late in the 4th qrt.
 
Offensively the Falcons were led by Nicho Goodenough with 107 total yards of offense with 2 touchdowns and 2 two point conversions. Antonio Williams added 68 yards of total offense.  Nathan Aulds was a work horse gaining 59 yards on 11 carries. 
 
Elijah Washabaugh was 6/9 for 132 yards with 2 touchdowns. Noah MacDonald reached the endzone on a 30 yard completion from Washabaugh. Robbie Mularz had 3 catches for 33 yards and a score. 
 
Coach Kowalski is still undefeated coaching on his birthday. 
 
The Falcons travel to Garber next week. 6pm kickoff

JV Host Flint Powers

JV out powers Flint with a 36-6 victory in front of a home crowd Thursday night after being on the road the first three weeks of the season.

 
The offense was unstoppable in the 1st half and most of the night rushing 32 times for 219 yards. Ryan Watkins led the charge with 9 carries for 98 yards with one score. Antonio Williams added 6 carries for 51 yards with a score. Carter Davidson celebrated his 16th birthday with a one yard touchdown run as well.  Elijah Washabaugh was 5/9 for 110 yards with one touchdown. That touchdown was to Robbie Mularz for 30 yards. Noah MacDonald had a great block to spring Robbie into the endzone.
 
The defense was swarming once again as they held Powers to one score. In the 4 games this season, the defense is only giving up a little over 4 points a game. Once again they were led by Carter Williamston with 8 tackles.  Nathan Aulds had 5 tackles and a touchdown on defense after a blocked punt by 3 of the interior linemen. The defense also created 4 turnovers. Colton Cunningham, Nicho Goodenough and Carter Davidson all had fumble recoveries. Loghan Burdis finished up the turnovers with and interception. 
 
JV travels to Alma next Thursday night for a 6pm kickoff against the Panthers
 

JV Defeat Swan Valley

Freeland JV traveled to Swan Valley for a big rivalry game and left with a victory 44-12.

 
The offense was working on all cylinders racking up 390 yards of total offense. Ryan Watkins who celebrated his 16th birthday rushed 14 times for 91 yards with a score. Nico Goodenough rushed 7 times for 81 yards with one score. Antonio Williams had a heck of day on offense with 97 total yards and 3 touchdowns. Elijah Washabaugh was 5/8 for 107 with 1 TD.
 
The defense was led by Carter Williamston 6 tackles, one for loss and a sack.  Nolan Cunningham  had 5 tackles, one for loss and a sack. Nathan Audls had a sack as well. 
 
Coach Kowalski is now 12-0 against Swan Valley.
 
The JV team will be home next week against Flint Powers. 615pm kickoff 

Freeland Travels to Corunna

Freeland  gets it's second win of the season after traveling the long bus ride to Corunna 20-0

 
Offensively the Falcons rushed 41 times for 192 yards with three scores. Ben Watkins led the team with 11 carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah Washabaugh was 6/7 for 74 yards, his favorite target this week was Robbie Mularz. Robbie caught 3 passes for 58 yards
 
The swarming Falcon defens held Corunna to 99 yards of total offense and pitched their second shutout of the season. Carter Williamston led the defense with eight tackles and two sacks. Colton Cunningham had six tackles. Jace Lindauer had a solid defensive performance with three tackles and a sack.
 
The JV team travels to Swan Valley next Thursday for a huge rivalry game against the Vikings. 615pm kickoff
 

JV Football Starts on a Positive Note

Freeland JV traveled to Saginaw Untied for it's first game of the 2024 football season and came out victorious with a 36-0 win.

 
The Falcon offense rushed for 298 yards on 42 carries. Nico Goodenough led the team with 79 yards on 11 carries. Elijah Washabaugh threw 13 passes, completed 6 of them for 105 yards with 2 touchdowns. Robby Mularz led all receivers with 3 catches for 42 yards with one score. Antonio Williams had a solid game with 100 yards total from scrimmage with one touchdown.
 
The defense held the Phoenix 127 total yards of offense and gave up 0 scores. Carter Williamstown led the defense with 4 tackles and 1 sack. 
 
The Falcons are home next Thursday against Bridgeport.
