Golf practice will begin on Monday August 12th at Twin Oaks Golf Course!  There will be a 30 minute parent/player meeting at the course, in the big shed beginning at 6:00 pm.  Practice will begin at 6:30 pm, and we will have tee times so the girls can play nine practice holes that night.  The first four weeks of the season’s schedule are below.  Most of our practices will be held at Twin Oaks, and some range days at The Sawmill.  Please be aware that there will be dates and times specific for varsity players and JV players on the schedule.  Due to the nature of golf and holding practices at a public facility, practice times do vary, and can change depending on course availability.  After Labor Day, we try to hold all of our practices at 3:30 as long as the course can accommodate us.   We will be holding our first qualifiers of the season on August 13th, 14th, and 15th.  The qualifier will be a total of 54 holes (18 holes each day)

Freeland started off the game nicely with some good combinations between the midfield and forwards alongside confident defending from the back line. Two quick goals early in the half from Saginaw Lutheran saw them take complete control of the game and they would carry this momentum for the majority of the half. A great response and counter attack by Jackson Puvalowski resulted in a snap finish from Derik Prast with the first goal of the season for Freeland Falcons Varsity. Late in the half Derik Prast swerved a corner kick into the goal marking his second goal of the game and bringing Freeland level. However the Chargers managed to scrape one more goal before the break and reclaimed their lead. The Falcons responded superbly in the second half as they clicked into gear. A quick brace from the electric Nathan Anaya, a crafty finish by Jackson Puvalowski as well as an unfortunate own goal by the Chargers put Freeland in charge. The Saginaw team were not down and out as they pulled a

JV Both teams started the game very well and Heritage would have the first couple of chances with only some incredible last ditch tackles from Travis Lloyd keeping the Hawks at bay. It was the Falcons who broke the deadlock via Cayden Rose with a nice finish into the side netting after slick build up play through Colin Earls and Graham Shepard. It would be Shepard combining again with his other midfield partner Artur Jovino to create the second goal for Dolan Wills who fought the ball into the back of the net past two defenders and the goalkeeper. Heritage dominated a lot of the second half, but strong defending from Brady VanDaele and Jonas Koehler made it difficult to break Freeland down. Sawyer Prast in goal looked comfortable and had an answer for everything that was thrown at him throughout the game. The moment of the game came from Sam Moehler who from 30 yards out found the top corner with superb technique and placement putting the falcons 3 to the good. Heritage again show
